Putting it mildly, a sea of volunteers were on hand!

Prattville Re-Leaf Project a Big Success

Saturday, February 21st, it seemed that most of Prattville turned out to help Mayor Jim Byard "Re-Leaf" the storm ravaged city.
The Alabama Urban Forestry Association's Fred Kapp delivered Governor Bob Riley's proclamation naming Prattville as the 2009 Arbor Day City.
State and local politicians, arborists, landscapers, volunteers and a squad or two of Air Force officers were on hand to plant around 1,000 5 gallon oaks, maples and cherries.
It was one of the best planned and implemented charitable projects the AUFA has ever witnessed.
